Our fire door installation projects demonstrate BJM’s ability to deliver compliant, carefully managed works across healthcare, commercial, and education environments. From urgent remediation projects to sensitive installations within historic buildings, our team provides reliable, certified solutions with minimal disruption to daily operations.
BJM was asked by Fischer Panda to price fire door remedial works at its Verwood offices and warehouse, working from a fire door survey carried out by a third party. Rather than simply pricing the survey's findings, we analysed each of the 23 doors in detail and set out a clear door-by-door plan, identifying which doors could be brought up to standard through remediation and which needed full replacement.
The result was a scope covering the remediation of 16 doors, including easing and adjusting, new intumescent and smoke seals, drop-down seals, fire-rated hinges, overhead closers, locks and signage, and the supply and installation of seven new BM TRADA Q-Mark certified doorsets, including an FD60S doorset to the main warehouse entrance.
It was the clarity and thoroughness of that analysis that secured BJM the work, giving the client confidence in exactly what would be done to each door and why.
BJM was appointed by BH Live to carry out fire door surveys across its entire estate in the BCP area, including all of its leisure centres, the Bournemouth Pavilion and the Bournemouth International Centre (BIC). Every door was inspected and recorded against current fire safety standards, with surveys planned around live operations to avoid disruption to customers and events.
From the findings we produced a prioritised three-year remedial plan, allowing BH Live to budget for and phase the works across the estate with the highest-risk items addressed first. BJM now holds an ongoing maintenance contract with BH Live, delivering the remedial works and periodic inspections to keep the estate compliant year on year.
BJM was appointed by the YMCA to survey more than 300 fire doors at its 56 Westover Road site in Bournemouth. The building is large, complex and high risk, so the survey had to be thorough while keeping disruption to residents and staff to a minimum. We inspected every door, recorded its condition against current fire safety standards and delivered a clear, prioritised report the YMCA could act on straight away. On the strength of that work, the YMCA appointed BJM to carry out the replacement and remedial works, delivered floor by floor so the building stays fully operational throughout.
